Cookies are small text files that serve as IT markers and they are sent by servers (in this case, the Site server) to user devices (generally an Internet browser) when Users access a given website page. Cookies can also be set by websites other than the one the User is visiting (‘third-party cookies’). Cookies are automatically stored by the User’s browser and retransmitted to the server that generated them each time the User accesses the same Internet page. Cookies enable and/or facilitate access to certain Internet pages in order to improve navigation (for example, they record visited pages, and other information, such as most frequently consulted pages, connection errors, etc.) and they also facilitate profiling activities. Consequently, for easy and complete access to websites, Users are generally advised to configure their browsers to accept cookies.
Browsers are often set to accept cookies by default. However, Users can change the settings to disable or delete cookies (from time to time or definitively), but with the consequence that optimal use of some areas of the website might be precluded. You can also check the methods and types of cookies set in your browser by opening your browser’s cookie settings.
CHARACTERISTICS AND PURPOSES OF COOKIES
Our Site uses the following categories of cookies, which may originate from Zecchetti S.r.l. (technical and functional) or third parties.
- TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL COOKIES: these facilitate navigation on the Site/APP and the use of its functions. Technical cookies include essential cookies, also referred to as ‘strictly necessary’, without which it is impossible to use all features of the Site/APP, and performance cookies which improve the functionality of the Site/APP.
The Italian Privacy Authority defines technical cookies as: those used for the sole purpose of “transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or User to provide a service”.
- NO PROFILING COOKIES
The Italian Privacy Authority defines third-party cookies as: the setting of cookies on a User’s terminal by an extraneous entity. This might be done by the same operator of the website that the User is visiting (referred to in brief as the “publisher”), or by a different website that installs cookies through the first (a so-called “third party”).
DESCRIPTION OF THE FORMS OF CONSENT FOR THE SETTING OF COOKIES
On initial access to the Site, a banner is displayed with a short statement, including a link to this extended statement, which provides details about the cookies installed by the Data Controller and third parties. This extended policy provides a description of the different categories of cookies and their characteristics. This information assists Users in deciding which cookies to authorise.
Consent is not required for the use of technical cookies, but they can nevertheless be disabled following the procedure described in the section, ‘How to enable or disable cookies’.
Cookie preferences can be changed at any time, including refusing consent for the use of all the cookies (including cookies installed by third parties) in the table below.
